OnCue – Cuey Sings the Blues

OnCue has fulfilled our hearts with this outstanding mixtape and as a listener as well as a fan I am damn right happy with how this mixtape is. It is definitely a quality mixtape; possible and arguably the top mixtape of the year. Between this and Wale’s album from earlier this year “More About Nothing” I don’t know which one is the best but I LOVE both.

What are you waiting for? Go download this and turn on those speakers/put on those headphones!

**By the way I forgot to address the issue on the lack of posts. School has just begun and I was attempting to get back into the flow of sleep patterns and work along with everything else. I will try my best to keep the consistency and upload everyday when possible.

Thanks.

The Cool Kids – I Got Colors

If you didn’t catch The Cool Kids before here’s a quick synopsis:

The Cool Kids are a hip hop group from the Mid-West United States. The duo consists of Antoine “Mikey Rocks” Reed (originally from Matteson, Illinois) and Evan “Chuck Inglish” Ingersoll (originally from Mount Clemens, Michigan), they are based in Chicago, Illinois and Detroit, Michigan. Self-described as “the new black version of the Beastie Boys,” The Cool Kids’ music has been released primarily to the independent Chocolate Industries via their own label C.A.K.E. Recordings. Reed and Ingersoll have collaborated with several other musical artists and made appearances in numerous media, such as Asher Roth, Kenna, The Bloody Beetroots, Drake, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, and Maroon 5.

I am a very big fan of The Cool Kids so they will be posted often.

Wait What – This is Real Life (Sick Mash Up Album)

AMAZING MASH UP ALBUM! DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS!

This possibly one of the BEST mash up albums I’ve heard lately. You should never get tired of mash ups because its impossible for you to get too much of them (of course if you are listening to terrible mash ups that are not well done that is acceptable).

This mash up album is extraordinary and best of all it is free to download. The artist and myself would appreciate if you didn’t download it for free because all donations will be given to youth writing charity for education.

This album does it all. Combines hip-hop with different genres such as indie rock to give you the best of both worlds.

You can download it through this link: waitwhat.bandcamp.com

Mother Earth Remixes – Global Warming

Some of the chillest music I’ve listened to in a while from Mother Earth. He is a student at Penn State and has been doing the remix thing for about two years. He blends, remixes and mashes up new and old songs. Whatever he does with these songs it’s good. He’s got about 20-25 songs that I was listening through, but I thought these were the best and had the nicest feel to them. I really like this guy I’ll put up some more stuff in the future.

Joshua Bennett – Don’t Let Me Go

This is my first time hearing of Joshua Bennett and I am extremely pleased with what I’ve heard.
Thanks to Confusion of PnP for letting me hear this track!
He is not what you depict in your mind when you hear the word “rapper” and is far from your mental image of one too. He’s read his poetry at the White House and has received praise from President Barack Obama as well as the First Lady, Michelle Obama. It doesn’t stop there. He has written and published a book called Jesus Riding Shotgun and is pursuing his PhD (at Princeton I think but am not 100% sure). I love his style, ability to speak his mind and convey his true emotions through his words. Sometimes today’s music often lacks and is absent minded when it comes to music with meaning. We need more intelligent people who have substance and knowledge rather than people who are equivalent to a human being in a vegetative state.
Much Love for Joshua Bennet and I hope he continues to make wonderful music! Enjoy!
